Lars Rønning holds a PhD in business economics from Bodø Graduate School of Business. The thesis (2008) is titled “Social capital in farm-based entrepreneurship and rural development”. His research focuses on entrepreneurship at the business level as well as community entrepreneurship that promote business and social development at the community level. Rønning has contributed to research projects on farm succession, farmers’ adaptation to climate change, business development in protected areas, and a number of evaluations of governmental business development programs.
