Public health and outdoor recreation – the role of management bodies in recruiting youth into outdoor recreation in Mid Norway – Folkehelse og friluftsliv – Offentlig forvaltnings rolle i rekruttering av unge friluftslivsutøvere i Midt-Norge

About the project

According to the Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management, which is responsible for the management of outdoor recreation, one of the biggest challenges in outdoor management is how to recruit young participants to outdoor activities – friluftsliv. This project is a preliminary study which will identify main challenges for management bodies on the local level related to public health and outdoor recreation. Three local authority districts in Mid Norway will be studied in particular. We will also do a literature overview and develop a trans-disciplinary network of institutions in Mid Norway working with public health and outdoor recreation.
