Sveinsd\u00f3ttir is Human Geographer with a PhD from the University of Denver. Her research explores the relationships between people, nature, and society, with a particular focus on environmental governance, natural resource management, and regional development. I am particularly interested in how \u00a0extractive industries impact land use, local democracy, and nature, as well as how communities can actively participate in decisions that shape their environments.<\/p>\n<p>Anna G. Sveinsd\u00f3ttir has also worked on themes such as tourism, climate change, and visitor management in the Arctic, just energy transition and processes of rural change, as well as citizen involvement in planning. A consistent theme in her research is the interest in collaboration and participation as a driving force for sustainable and just social changes, especially in rural and peripheral areas.<\/p>\n<p>Her research background spans from Latin America and the USA to the Arctic and Norway, but common to the projects is the desire to understand and strengthen people&#8217;s role in shaping sustainable communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anna G.
