Through a comprehensive food\u2011systems approach, the project integrates <strong>data analysis, stakeholder engagement, resilience assessment, and strategic planning<\/strong> to better understand and enhance regional food system performance.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinated by the <strong>Ruralia Institute at the University of Helsinki<\/strong>, the project involves research partners from seven countries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Denmark<\/strong> \u2013 Roskilde University, Department of People &amp; Technology, and Kost Studio<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sweden<\/strong> \u2013 Lund University, Department of Process and Life Science Engineering; Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), People and Society; Livsmedelsakademin<\/li>\n<li><strong>Iceland<\/strong> \u2013 University of Iceland (H\u00e1sk\u00f3li \u00cdslands), Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition<\/li>\n<li><strong>Norway<\/strong> \u2013 Ruralis \u2013 Institute for Rural and Regional Research<\/li>\n<li><strong>Finland<\/strong> \u2013 Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Estonia<\/strong> \u2013 Estonian Business School<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lithuania<\/strong> \u2013 Vytauto Did\u017eiojo Universitetas (VMU); Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry; Sustainable Gastro (Turn Sustainable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20976\" src=\"https:\/\/ruralis.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/regiofoods-natalia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"886\" height=\"1223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ruralis.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/regiofoods-natalia.jpg 886w, https:\/\/ruralis.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/regiofoods-natalia-742x1024.jpg 742w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 886px) 100vw, 886px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project\u2019s goal is to develop a <strong>comprehensive measurement methodology<\/strong> to map and evaluate the long\u2011term resilience of regional food systems. The methodology will be applicable not only regionally, but also at <strong>national and transnational levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>RegioFoodS operates within the framework of the <strong>EU\u2011co\u2011funded FutureFoodS partnership, inkl. Norway<\/strong>, which supports Europe\u2019s transition toward more sustainable and resilient food production and consumption.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Ruralis team<\/strong> is responsible for measuring the long-term resilience and performance of regional food systems (Work Package 3).
