In lowering post-harvest losses,\u00a0SolarFood\u00a0will contribute to addressing the issues of both food access \/ security and poverty reduction.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to improve the nutritional content of solar dried foods and developing marketable products that can provide a new income stream for women-led agricultural cooperatives.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0SolarFood\u00a0project involves an international and interdisciplinary team of researchers, led by Ruralis \u2013 Institute for Rural and Regional Research in Norway. SolarFood <a href=\"https:\/\/ruralis.no\/en\/projects\/combined-solar-and-membrane-drying-technologies-for-sustainable-fruit-preservation-in-developing-countries-kombination-av-sol-och-membranteknik-for-torkning-och-konservering-av-frukt-pa-ett-hallbar\/\">1.0<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ruralis.no\/en\/projects\/solarfood-reducing-post-harvest-losses-through-improved-solar-drying\/\">2.0<\/a> emphasized the development of solar-powered technologies.
