Scenarios for reconciling biodiversity conservation with declining agricultural use in the mountains of Europe (BioScene ) – Scenarios for reconciling biodiversity conservation with declining agricultural use in the mountains of Europe (BioScene)
The overall objective of the project is to analyse and evaluate the biodiversity consequences of agricultural decline and restructuring in mountain areas of Europe to provide strategies and policy tools for reconciling the conservation of biodiversity with the potentially conflicting impacts of declining agricultural and other human activities. The project is designed to achieve this objective through case study analysis of the biodiversity processes and outcomes of different scenarios (BioScenes) of agricultural change in six contrasting European countries spanning the major biographical regions of Europe, including a variety of agri-environmental settings and including EU, non-EU and accession countries.
