Abinet Tilahun Aweke is a Researcher, PhD at Ruralis (part-time). She completed her PhD in Economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2023, where her research focused on environmental and energy economics. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).

Aweke’s research spans environmental, agricultural, consumer, and energy economics. Her current work focuses on the valuation of ecosystem services provided by agricultural landscapes and their interactions with climate change impacts and food security. She also explores farmers’ and the public’s acceptance of results- and practice-based agro-environmental schemes.
