Look to Switzerland

Prosjektet skal bidra til mer kunnskap og en mer kunnskapsbasert diskusjon om målrettede tiltak i norsk jordbruk for å (1) håndtere klimautfordringer, (2) bidra til naturmangfold og andre natur- og kulturverdier, samt (3) redusere miljøpåvirkninger som avrenning og vannforurensing.

The main aim of this project is to propose concrete measures based on existing measures in Switzerland.

We will first identify relevant climate and environmental measures in Switzerland with an assumed high transfer value to Norway. Next, we will seek to quantify the economic and environmental consequences of introducing these in Norwegian agriculture. This will provide knowledge that is part of a survey among farmers to uncover attitudes, acceptance, barriers and the necessary compensation needs for such schemes. Finally, we will create a synthesis of our findings that culminates in a proposal for the implementation of concrete climate and environmental measures in Norwegian agriculture. This proposal will be the most important result of the project.

The target group is primarily players from industry and administration. The project is also relevant for politicians, advisers, researchers, interest organizations and the general public.
