Knowledge and practice in fishing (post doc)

Future challenges in recruitment, practice and knowledge development in the fisheries are adressed in this comparative study between Norway and Newfoundland. The study focus on mechanisms and structures that are important for how knowledge is generated, implemented and situated in relation to the practices in the fishing fleet in the two areas. The theoretical and methodological framework is Actor-Network Theory. In particular, the changes that occured in the systems of knowledge when the fisheries management regimes shifted from open to closed access, are studied.
