Identity and belonging in the process of geographical change in municipalities – Tilhørighet og identitet til egen kommune

This project founded by The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (Kommunenes Sentralforbund) examines what role the inhabitants’ sense of belonging plays in the processes of geographical change in municipalities. Data is collected in three study areas: Re municipal, that used to be two municipalities. Tjeldsund and Skånland municipalities, where the inhabitants voted no to a municipal merge in a referendum. And Ørsta and Volda, two municipalities that recently have researched the question of a mergence.
