Engelsk beskrivelse: The overreaching objective with this project is to assist the decision making process by individual producers, consumers, advisers, analysts, and not at least policy makers, by providing research-based knowledge of organic farming’s economic, environmental and social contributions within the Norwegian society. The specific objectives include to: • compare the economic, environmental and social effects of organic and conventional farming systems, • examine the public preferences at national and local level from the environmental, economic and social attributes of (organic) agriculture, • accomplish case studies of the multiple impacts of the organic farming system relative to other farming systems, and • develop policy implications and inform future decision making on the support of organic farming.
