Eirik Magnus Fuglestad has a PhD in historical sociology from the University of Edinburgh, where he researches the links between ownership of land, nation-building and the farmers role in this process. Fuglestad has researched the ideological understanding of cultivation law and radical rural ideologies in the nineteenth century. He also has expertise in the Norwegian agricultural policy in the 1800s and 1900s, and the Norwegian market regulation system. At Ruralis, Fuglestad will be a book editor of the BIOSMART project, look at the early technological change in agriculture in the SmaT project, and write about changes in Norwegian agriculture.
