Jostein Brobakk holds a PhD in Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, with the dissertation The Effects of Food Crisis and Climate Crisis: A Multilevel Analysis of Regime Change and Actor Responses.

Brobakk conducts research and publishes in areas such as agricultural, food, and climate policy, the bioeconomy and circular economy, as well as municipal and regional policy. He has expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods, and extensive experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis.
