Gunn-Turid Kvam holds a doctoral degree (dr.ing) in business organization and management from NTNU, Institute for Economics and Technology Management. Her research competence is connected to the development of business and industry. In recent years her research has focused on a variety of topics, such as the food supply chain, local and organic food, agricultural and advisory service in agriculture, implementing new technology in agriculture, animal welfare, communication between The Norwegian Food Safety Authority inspectors and farmers, social sustainability in feed value chains, and mainly through qualitative studies. Theories on innovation, cooperation, networking, learning and organizing, interaction and communication, and social sustainability have provided the theoretical basis for this work. Her main research interest is to explore how the development and innovations in rural areas can be organized and implemented in order to ensure value generation and sustainable development.
