Bjørn Eidem is a graduate economist from NHH with, among other things, economic geography, social planning and international economics in the profession. He has the UD’s aspirant course and has held a number of positions in the Foreign Service, among other things, in relation to the WTO and the EU. Eidem has worked on the framework conditions for the production and trade of food in the NHO, the Dagligvareleverandøreres Forening (DLF) and as the Norwegian Agricultural Council in Brussels. He also served as chairman of the Norwegian Institute for Agricultural Economics Research (NILF now NIBIO).
